What I Wore: Makeup and Outfit For a Party

If you read my last post, I talked about how I don’t usually go to clubs that often. Funny enough, this weekend I went out to a birthday party and guess where it was celebrated, a club :P I love getting ready for going out. It’s so much fun being creative and dressing up specially since in my day to day I don’t wear too much makeup. I really liked how my whole outfit and makeup turned out, so I wanted to share it with you. Sorry for the photos’ quality, I took these pictures at night and there wasn’t enough lighting. I hope you enjoy it!

  1. Using my fingers, I applied MAC’s Prep + Prime eye primer all over my lid and crease. I have found that using an eye primer helps maintain my makeup on place for a long time and helps kind of bring out the color of my eyeshadows.
  2. With a brush, I applied Pistol of Urban Decay’s Naked 2 Palette all over my lid. It’s a silver eyeshadow with a bit of shimmer, perfect for a night look.
  3. For my crease, I applied Dreamer of Tarte’s Tartelette Palette. This is a matte medium tone brown eyeshadow. I liked how it blended and combined well with the silver eyeshadow on my lid. Also, the brown color added depth to my eyes.
  4. To line my upper lid, I used Maybelline’s Eye Studio Lasting Drama Blackest Black Gel Eyeliner. I tried this eyeliner technique in which you start from the innermost corner of the eye and end with a long wing. This method helps kind of achieve an almond like eye shape.
  5. Finally, I used MAC’s Opulash Optimum Black Mascara for my eyelashes.

  1. With an angle makeup brush, I applied Dior’s Diorskin Nude Hydrating Makeup Foundation. Personally, I like to blend my foundation really well just so it looks natural. This way, I avoid having patches of makeup accumulated in some areas of my face.
  2. To set the foundation and to achieve a more matte look, I used Bourjois’ Bio Detox Organic Powder in Light Beige
  3. To add a bit of color to my face, I applied L’Oreal Glam Bronzer Duo Powder. This product comes with a bronzer and a lighter color powder which I use as a highlighter.

  1. I chose Revlon’s Colorburst Matte Balm in Audacious, which is a bright orange colored lipstick, to add a pop of color to the whole look. I must say I’m impressed at how long the lipstick lasted without having to apply it again.

The night that I went out it was raining a lot, so I didn’t want to wear a skirt or a dress mainly because I didn’t want to freeze. Instead, I went with black leggings and a long blouse. I think that leggings can look sexy as well as a skirt, even though there’s more skin covered up. I love that this blouse has a floral pattern, which I thought looked feminine and delicate. Also, I like it’s crochet pattern on the shoulders. To top things off, I paired this outfit with black chunky heels. I have to say, by the end of the night my feet hurt, but it was fun wearing heels after a long time of not wearing them haha.

Thanks! Let me know what you think of this whole look :) What do you like to wear when going out??

Night Out Look Using Old Makeup Products

I’m not really the kind of girl that goes out to clubs very often. There was a point in my life that I used to love going to bars and dancing with my friends, but I guess age caught up with me and I don’t have enough energy to handle a night out every weekend, specially since I have to constantly study. A little side note: I can’t wait to graduate from university and start living the sort of life I have planed in my mind haha. Anyways, when I do go out to clubs, I love getting ready. I came up with this dark makeup look using old makeup products that I haven’t used in a long time. This idea can be perfect for clubbing and dancing the night away. Hope you enjoy it!

Because I chose dark colors for my eye makeup, I decided not to put my foundation first, since I know some bits of eyeshadow will fall on my cheeks and could ruin the foundation.

  1. To start off, I placed MAC’s Prep + Prime eye primer all over my lid and crease to help me maintain my makeup on place throughout the night.
  2. Then, I applied Maybelline’s 24hr Color Tattoo in Infinite White all over my eyes.
  3. Next, with a fluffy brush, I applied the bronze eyeshadow from Bourjois’ Smokey Eyes Trio Eyeshadows in Brun Wood to my crease. I blended this eyeshadow very well so that all my crease has a uniform bronze color.
  4. Following that, I applied the shimmery black eyeshadow from the Victoria’s Secret Smokey Eye Makeup Kit all over my lid. Be careful not to apply a lot of product since using black eyeshadow can be tricky. You can keep applying little by little until you reach the tone you want.
  5. With the same fluffy brush, dab a bit of that bronze color and blend the black eyeshadow with the bronze one until there are no harsh definitions between the two.
  6. For the final touches, I used Christian Dior’s Eyeliner Pencil in the color black to eyeliner my upper lid and MAC’s Opulash Optimum Black Mascara to add volume to my eyelashes.

After finishing my eyes, I cleaned up the bits that had fallen on my cheeks and continued with my foundation.
  1. With an angle foundation brush, I placed my second favorite foundation, Diorskin Forever Makeup Foundation, all over my face.
  2. Next, I used Dior’s Terra Bella Bronzer in Light Tan. This bronzer has an orange undertone which I love. I placed this on my jaw bones, my forehead, cheek bones, and nose.

Continuing with the dark makeup idea, I used Maybelline’s Color Sensational Lipstick in Dazzling Plum.

Let me know what you think of this look! Have you tried any of these products? What’s your favorite night makeup look??

Makeup Of The Day: Dark Everyday Look

The other day I was thinking that it’s about time I do a makeup of the day post. If you are familiar with Pinterest and Instagram, you’ll probably have seen that there are tons of amazing makeup tutorials and ideas posted there, it’s so addictive haha. I’ve saved some photos that I love in order to have inspiration when doing my makeup. I’ve noticed some pictures of makeup artists’ everyday makeup look and it’s always natural and discrete, but nonetheless appealing and amazing. They manage to accentuate their facial features, resulting in a look that brings out the best of them. For the look I’m going to show you today, I wanted to do something wearable during the daytime, not too dramatic. I wanted to try to recreate this whole idea of emphasizing your facial features, but without having to wear a lot of makeup. I hope you enjoy this post!

I started out with the eyes because it’s easier to clean up all the eyeshadow that falls on the cheeks and then apply the foundation. I chose three neutral colors for this look: pink, light brown, and dark brown. First, using the Smashbox Full Exposure Palette, I applied the light matte pink color (the third matte shadow from left to right) all over the upper lid. I wanted a pink color similar to my skin tone, but a bit lighter. Next, I used the light brown eyeshadow that has shimmer (the second shimmery eyeshadow from left to right). I applied it on my inner half of the lid. Because the shimmery eyeshadows form this palette are less pigmented than the matte ones, I damped my brush with a bit of water beforehand. Finally, I used Tart’s Tartalette Multi-Tasker eyeshadow, which is a dark matte brown for the crease and the outer v. These eyeshadows are super pigmented so be careful not to apply too much or you’ll end up with a dark eye. The key is to blend really well.

Before this look, I had never done my eyebrows. I’ve seen a lot of makeup tutorials on YouTube where girls can go from a really thick eyebrow to a light and thin one. I think eyebrow shapes can change how one person looks, but I just think it’s hard to achieve a natural looking one. However, I gather up the courage and decided to give it a try! I used the dark matte brown eyeshadow from the Smashbox Full Exposure Palette for the inner half. Then, I used the light matte beige eyeshadow from the same palette for the outer half. Basically, I just did brush strokes to fill the brow haha.

After doing my eyes and eyebrows, I proceded to the foundation. I used Dior’s Diorskin Nude Hydrating Makeup Foundation. I applied only one coat, as I didn’t want too much coverage. I blended it really well with an angle foundation brush. Then, I applied The Body Shop Tea Tree Concealer in the 01 tone under my eyes. I love the minty smell of this concealer! Finally, I used my all time favorite bronzer to contour my face: MAC Bronzing Powder in Refined Golden. I applied it on my jaw bone, cheek bone, my forehead, and the outline of my nose. I wanted a natural look and it’s easier for me to work with powders than creams, thus I didn’t use a cream contour palette :P

For the final touch, I used Bourjois’ Color Boost Lip Crayon in Peach on the Beach shade. It’s a baby pink color that I felt suited the look nicely. It super creamy and moisturizing!

I hope you enjoy this look! What is your everyday makeup look? Have you tried any of this products yet?

Celebrity Inspired Outfit Idea: Beyonce's Sporty Chic Outfit

Last week, I was contacted by Fanatics, the sports apparel store, and was asked to create my idea of a sporty chic outfit. Since I love clothes and fashion, I decided to take this opportunity and just kind of have fun coming up with ideas on what to wear when going to a game. While brainstorming, I did some research for inspiration and found this picture of Beyonce, which kind of fit with what I was going for: a casual, feminine, and a bit sexy outfit. I hope you enjoy this post and be sure to let me know what you think of the outfit :D!

The reason why I’m not starting from top to bottom is because as I thought of what a sporty chic outfit would look like, the only thing that came to my mind was leather-like leggings. I think this type of leggings look sexy and chic and can be used for any occasion. I’ve seen a lot of girls wearing faux leather leggings and looking great in them. However, I’ve been undeceive as to wether or not I would look good on them and whether or not I could pair them with anything. Thus, I thought this would be the best opportunity to put an end to the mind battle for leggings and just go for it haha. I searched in ASOS because this store ships worldwide, in case you guys wanted to buy these leggings. Here is the link.

One of the main reasons I liked Beyonce’s outfit in this photo was her plaid jacket. Inspired by this idea, I thought of pairing the leggings with this flannel shirt from Urban Outfitters, here is the link. Most of my plaid shirts are from this store, so I instantly went looking for one there. I really liked the combination of blue and red colors and the shape of the shirt. I think this type of clothing looks laid back and casual, perfect for going to a game.

Next, I chose this simple white tank top form ASOS to wear underneath the flannel shirt. What caught my attention was the v-neck, which makes this top look feminine and sexy. Also,  I really like that the straps cross at the back part of the tank top. It’s a nice detail that adds a feminine touch to the outfit. I don’t really like wearing tight clothing and this tank top looked a bit loosely fitted, something I would definitely wear. Here is the link.

Keeping in mind that I wanted this outfit to be sexy, yet feminine, I thought these heels would be a great addition. This type of heels, simple and elegant, has been trending a lot lately. I constantly see girls wearing them and it seems that every outfit they pair them with looks pretty and feminine. I found this model at ASOS. I like that it has a thin needle like heel, but it’s not too tall, so you would still be able to walk in them. Also, I picked these ones out because they were pretty cheap (my wallet would be happy haha). Here is the link. If you are like me and don’t wear heels too often, I looked in ASOS and they have a variety of flat sandals that would also look great with the outfit.

Looking at Beyonce’s outfit, in some pictures I saw that she was wearing a long golden necklace. I found this one at Urban Outfitters which looks a bit similar to Beyonce’s. I liked that it’s three necklaces in one, which strikes out more than if it had been only one. It’s a simple necklace that doesn’t overpower the whole look. Here is the link.

Continuing with the golden theme, I found these earrings also at Urban Outfitters. I have a friend of mine that has multiple piercings in her ear lobe and she adorns it with various little earrings. I like how it looks on her, but I just can’t pierce all my ear lobe. I liked that these earrings give the same effect and it works for girls that have only one ear lobe piercing. Here is the link.

To top this outfit off, I chose this black bag from Urban Outfitters. I liked that it’s a long cross body purse, the kind that I like to wear. Moreover, I like that it has fringes or tassels which give that casual and laid back look. Here is the link.

I hope you enjoyed this post! What outfit would you wear for a game??

Beauty Review: Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara

Before I begin with this review, I wanted to let you guys know that I’ve created an Instagram account (@sunnydays_14) to share with you a bit of my day to day, specially outfits and stuff that I’ve been into recently. I’m new at this, so bare with me haha, but hopefully you enjoy it!

Lets begin…

If I was on a deserted island and I could only bring three beauty products (it’s a tough scenario because I would love to take everything with me haha), I would choose: a facial cream with SPF (no more freckles!), a chapstick (I have constant dry lips), and a black mascara. Ever since I got into beauty and makeup, mascaras have been my obsession. Being a girl with light brown eyelashes, without a mascara I look as if I had no eyelashes. Thus, mascaras have become an essential item of my makeup collection.

For years, I’ve been trying out different brands, always on the look out for a mascara that makes my eyelashes look thick and long. My mom has used various products form Smashbox and she has always commented on how good their products are. Following her advice, I decided to try out their Full Exposure Mascara. I’ve been using it daily for about two years and can’t really complain about it. It has a classic wand made with natural bristles. The outer bristles are shorter than the inner ones. This wand structure helps create a light and more natural look while still making your eyelashes thicker. Also, the mascara kind of separates the eyelashes causing the illusion of having a lot of eyelashes. If applied only once, it looks natural and discrete. I like to apply two coats for thicker eyelashes that call more the attention when going out at night. It lasts all day without needing to reapply the product. I did notice that throughout the day it faded into my lower lid. I don’t know if this happened because of the mascara itself or because of me, but this situation has happened to me before using different mascaras of other brands. Finally, the product has a light consistency. Even after such long time of using it, the mascara hasn’t developed flakes or anything similar.

Hope you enjoy the review! Which mascara do you use? Have you tried this one out?
